In 2015, 130,200 persons were employed as Nursing Support and Personal Care workers and it estimated that up to another 250,200 more workers will be required by 2020. This qualification will give you the skills and knowledge to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing. With industry moving to follow individualised plans to provide a person-centred approach, you will learn how to tailor support, how to empower and communicate with clients, safe work practices and about the human body and supporting its healthy functioning.

This course is the first step in gaining the knowledge and practical experience to work in this rapidly growing industry. You will be given a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.
